Interfaith Supper Clubs
Our bi-monthly supper clubs were the first project of our Refugee Befriending Programme. These dinner events launched in the summer of 2023, through collaborative efforts between HostNation, dedicated volunteers, and community sponsors/organisations.
After receiving new funding from Camden Council’s Cohesion Fund for 2026, our Supper Clubs were intentionally oriented toward interfaith engagement. This evolution has widened our welcoming approach, which aligns with our inclusive values. New funding has also allowed us to hire chefs and caterers with lived experience of migration.
We’re still inviting our friends from HostNation, and we’re inviting neighbors from local synagogues, mosques, the Camden Interfaith Network, Borough of Sanctuary network, past guests from CWS, volunteers, and partners.
Each event brings people of varied faith traditions (or none) together to build a stronger sense of community in our area.
Collaboration and Learning
We work closely with our neighbouring faith communities to make London stronger and more loving through our faithful actions.
The Muslim World League London Office is one of our closest neighbours and we frequently collaborate to do good through community organising and campaigning, as well as through special projects like the recent A Million Acts of Hope in which we made creative collages and asked locals to contribute to visual representations of care and hope.
We work closely with Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church and the Westminster Quaker Meeting, all founding members of West End Welcome. Together we support refugees from Syria, Afghanistan, and Ukraine through community-led sponsorship.
We have been leaders in the interfaith conferences, Unapologetically Faithful in the Public Space, that have celebrated the motivation for people of faith to act for the public good. We have worked with synagogues, mosques, Islamic schools, and others to host these conferences that bring together multiple faiths.
We are also involved in the religious education of our local area as an accredited place of worship for school RE visits and one of our ministers is an accredited visitor as well as a member of the Camden borough Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education.
We are a part of a number of ecumenical and interfaith networks in the West End and Central London. These include the West End Clergy Breakfast, Churches Together in Westminster, Westminster Faith Exchange, the Faith & Belief Forum, and Camden Council’s Faith Leaders Forum and Interfaith Network.
