Rev. Jennifer Mills-Knutsen, Senior Minister
Jennifer has served at AIC since 2016, and she is passionate about ministry that engages church and community. Prior to her move to London, she served as the pastor of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Jeffersonville, Indiana and Assistant Pastor at the Old South Church in Boston, Massachusetts.
Jennifer has held many community leadership roles in her ministry, including co-chair of the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization and chair of March2Recovery, an organization overseeing aid and volunteers after devastating EF-4 tornadoes struck Southern Indiana in 2012. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and English from James Madison University in Virginia and a Masters of Divinity from Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, California.
Although originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia, she loves the Boston Red Sox almost as much as she loves her husband Josh and her son Benjamin.
Scott Stroman, Director of Worship and Music
Scott is a uniquely broad musician, equally proficient in classical, jazz, and world music. He is a conductor of various choirs and orchestras across London and Europe, a prolific and flexible composer, a singer and a respected educator. Born in Kendallville, Indiana, he has lived in London since 1982.
As an educator, he has been a professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London since 1983 and was head of their jazz program, renowned as one of the best in Europe from 1984 to 2008. He often combines his roles as conductor, performer, composer, presenter and educator to create unique programs, crossing boundaries between styles and cultures and between performance, composition and improvization.
Jonathan Miller, Missions and Ministry Intern
Jonathan has been in London and at AIC for the last four years in various staff and lay leadership roles. Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, he graduated from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London with a Bachelor’s degree in African Studies (Swahili) and International Relations in 2017.
He now works at the church full-time as he takes a break from student-life to discern his future in ministry. His primary ministry portfolio includes supporting the ministries for children, youth and young adults and coordinating the Missions Committee’s work, especially that of the Cold Weather Shelter. Working closely with Pastor Jennifer, he also assists in other roles including worship leadership and community organizing and outreach efforts.
