“Send forth Your light and Your truth, let them guide me; let them bring me to Your holy mountain, to the place where You dwell.” Psalm 43:3 (NIV)

For a church to be able to serve God to the best of its ability, it needs great leaders to guide the congregation, in all aspects of the life of the church.  At the American International Church, we are very proud of our Ministers, Ministries and Church Council – all of whom are dedicated to helping AIC to thrive, both inside and outside the church.

Rev. Jennifer Mills-Knutsen, Senior Minister

Jennifer profile 01

Jennifer comes to us from St. Luke’s United Church in Jeffersonville, Indiana, a suburb of Louisville, Kentucky. She has been their senior pastor since 2005.

She was ordained in 2001 in the Northern California – Nevada Conference of the United Church of Christ.

Jennifer holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and English from James Madison University in Virginia and a Masters of Divinity from Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, California.

Prior to her arrival at St. Luke’s, Jennifer was the Assistant Pastor at the Old South Church in Boston for five years and prior to that was active in managing a non-profit organisation supporting the homeless population in Berkeley while attending seminary

The Mills-Knutsen Family

Jennifer and her husband, Josh, were married in 1997 and have a son, Benjamin, who is nine-years-old. Jennifer and Josh grew up in Virginia Beach and have lived in California, Massachusetts, Kentucky and Indiana.

Josh has degrees from Old Dominion University, Boston College and the University of Kentucky, where he received his Ph.D in Philosophy. He has taught at several universities and currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Indianapolis. He loves cooking, coaching Little League and The Beatles.

Benjamin is in the third grade and he loves sports more than anything. He reads about sports, watches sports, plays sports and studies the history of sports. His favorite team is the Jacksonville Jaguars, but his favorite sport to play is baseball. He also loves Harry Potter, Percy Jackson and learning about history.

“What ignites my passion about AIC is the way in which the people of the congregation take seriously their relationship with Jesus Christ. Like you, my faith inspires me to engage the world the work of service and justice and to reach out and welcome others into caring Christian community. We share a common commitment to seeing the church’s diversity – in theology, nationality and perspective – as its greatest gift, an embodiment of the Kingdom of God and a witness to the depth and breadth of God’s love.

“I am excited by the opportunity to grow in faith together and help AIC serve as a beacon of God’s love in the heart of London.”
